Two Weeks in Motion: Work, Rehab, a Family Road Trip, and a Project I Can't Talk About Yet
TLDR
I missed a weekly update.
The good news is that I did not miss it because everything stopped. I missed it because a lot of things started moving at the same time.
Over the last two weeks, I have been working on a new album project that I cannot fully talk about yet, improving the website, scheduling posts, building more automation, diving back into work, pushing hard at cardiac rehab, getting ready for a family road trip with my mom, and getting confirmation that my porch project will start after I get back.
That is a pretty full couple of weeks.
The Good Reason I Missed an Update
Normally, missing a weekly update would make me feel like I had fallen behind.
This time, I think it means something a little different.
Life has been full. Not emergency-room full. Not everything-is-on-fire full. Just the kind of full that happens when work, recovery, family, creative projects, home projects, and a website all decide they need attention at the same time.
Apparently, the phrase "weekly update" does not automatically add an eighth day to the week.
I checked.
So this is the two-week version.
The Album Project I Can't Fully Talk About Yet
One of the biggest things taking up my time is a new album project we are working on.
And that is about as specific as I can be right now.
I cannot share the full story, the details, or where all of it is going yet. I know that saying "I am working on something I cannot talk about" is the creative-project version of rattling a wrapped present and then putting it back under the tree.
Still, it has been real work. It has taken time, thought, energy, and a lot of attention.
For now, the honest update is simple: the album project is moving, I am excited about it, and there will be more to say when there is more I am allowed and ready to say.
The Website Is Doing More While I Do Other Things
I have also been spending time improving the website.
A lot of that work is not flashy from the outside, but it matters. I have gotten posts scheduled, content lined up, and more of the repetitive pieces automated.
That does not mean I can disappear and let the robots run the place. It means I have built myself a little breathing room.
The goal is to keep the site active without having to manually hold every plate in the air every day. When I am at work, at rehab, on the road, or deep in another project, the website can still keep moving.
That feels like a real improvement.
Back in the Groove at Work
Work has been another big part of the last two weeks.
I feel like I am really diving back in and getting into the groove again.
There is a difference between returning to work and feeling like you are back inside the rhythm of work. The first one is about showing up. The second one is about getting your focus, confidence, and problem-solving brain working together again.
I have been working hard, staying engaged, and getting more comfortable with that rhythm.
It feels good to have normal problems to solve again.
Cardiac Rehab: Still Showing Up
Cardiac rehab is still a major part of the routine, and I have been working hard at it.
There is no dramatic number or giant breakthrough to report here. The update is that I am showing up, doing the work, and continuing to build from where I am.
That may sound repetitive, but consistency is the point.
Recovery does not always hand you a shiny new milestone every Friday. Sometimes the win is that you kept the appointment, did the work, and came back ready to do it again.
For me, that still counts.
I am not a doctor, and this is not medical advice. This is just what I am learning through my own recovery, and anything medical should be discussed with your own care team.
Two Weeks at a Glance
The easiest way to explain these two weeks is to put the moving pieces next to each other.
No fake scores. No invented medical numbers. Just six real parts of life that are moving forward.
Road Trip With Mom—and Maybe the Camera Rolling
The next big thing is the family trip.
My mom is going on the road trip with me, which should make the trip even more memorable and probably provide enough conversation to fill several hard drives.
We plan to vlog some of it.
I am deliberately saying "some of it" because I want to experience the trip too. I do not want every stop to become a production schedule. The camera should help us remember the trip, not turn the trip into a job.
I am sure I will get ideas along the way. That is usually how it works for me. A road, a conversation, a strange stop, a good view, or one ridiculous moment becomes the start of a post, a video, or something I did not know I was going to make.
A Porch Project Waiting at Home
I also got confirmation that my porch project is going to start when I get back from the trip.
That is one of those updates that sounds small until it has been sitting on your list for a while.
It is nice to know the project is officially moving and that there will be something happening at home after the road trip is over.
Apparently, even my house is getting a recovery update.
The Real Win: Getting Ahead
One thing I feel good about is that I have gotten a lot scheduled and prepared.
Posts are lined up. More of the website workflow is automated. Work is moving. Rehab is part of the routine. The trip is coming together. The porch is confirmed. The album project is moving quietly in the background.
None of those things is a giant finish-line moment by itself.
Together, they feel like momentum.
For a long time, so much of life had to be handled one appointment, one problem, or one recovery step at a time. Being able to think ahead again—to schedule things, automate things, plan a trip, work on music, and prepare for a home project—feels meaningful.
It feels like life is getting depth back.
What Comes Next
The immediate plan is pretty simple:
- Keep showing up at work.
- Keep working hard at cardiac rehab.
- Keep the website running and the scheduled posts moving.
- Keep making progress on the album without sharing what is not ready to be shared.
- Get ready for the family road trip.
- Vlog enough to remember it without filming every second of it.
- Come home and watch the porch project finally get started.
And somewhere along the road, I am sure another idea will show up.
Probably when I am nowhere near a keyboard.
Final Thought
I missed a weekly update, but I did not miss two weeks of living.
That may be the real update.
Work is starting to feel like work again. Rehab is still moving me forward. The website is becoming more organized. A creative project is taking shape quietly. A family trip is coming. A home project is waiting on the other side of it.
Nothing is finished.
But a lot is in motion.
And right now, that feels pretty good.
