How ColinMichaels.com handles personal information, protects it from sale, and responds to deletion requests.
Our privacy commitment
Effective August 4, 2026. ColinMichaels.com does not collect personal information for the purpose of selling it. The site does not sell, rent, or trade personal information. Information is handled only when a visitor chooses to provide it or when it is reasonably needed to operate, secure, and improve the site.
Information the site may handle
Depending on the features used, the site may handle account details supplied through Firebase sign-in, profile information, comments, notification settings, and other submitted content. The site and its service providers may also process contact messages, article proposals, prospective author-profile details, and limited technical information needed for hosting, security, abuse prevention, error diagnosis, and reliable delivery. Some preferences, saved articles, and offline data are stored only on the visitor's device.
How information is used
Information is used to provide the requested feature, maintain accounts and preferences, moderate submitted content, review contact messages and author proposals, protect the site from misuse, and keep the service working. Prospective author details are not published or used to create publishing access automatically. Trusted service providers such as Firebase and Google may process information only as needed to deliver these functions. External websites and embedded services have their own privacy practices.
Your right to removal
Visitors may ask at any time to have personal information associated with them removed. After a request is verified, the associated information is deleted from active systems except for limited records that must be kept for security, fraud prevention, legal obligations, or normal backup cycles.
